Yes, yet another interview. This time it is with a well known and beautiful cosplayer you may have seen around major anime/comic conventions the world over. To make it even better, she is a rabid gamer, toy collector, and all out lover of heavy metal (unfortunately, I am only made of liquid metals). She is the completely awesome Vampy!
Vampy (aka Linda Le) was kind of enough give us a bit of her time, and let me find out why she is so cool in every possible aspect.
G: Glad you could join us Vampy. I’ll start off by asking how did all
this modeling begin?
V: Well I wouldn’t exactly call my “modeling” real modeling or trying to
model. The real story behind everything is that a friend actually
thought it would be fun to play around with different looks with me,
especially creepy and scary almost borderline ugly snapshots of me d
looking like a zombie, or looking like a vampire with blood all over.
Let’s just say the pictures came out pretty insane, so that’s honestly
the start of everything. Just being creative. It was fun for sure, and
I kept shooting after that. :D
G: When did you start to notice you had a following?
V: Well, on myspace I went by the name Vampy Beauty long, long before
anyone cared so much about Vampires on movies etc. and my images and
styles were getting quite a bit of attention there, and then it just
grew. I was surprised that people were into it and also humbled.
G: You’ve done some voice work for Manga UK (and a lovely human voice it
is). Is voice acting something you intend to pursue?
V: I loved working with Manga UK (huge shot out to the most awesome
Jerome of Manga UK) and BangZoom Entertainment. It was an insane
experience with getting lessons from Tony Oliver, he’s like a voice
God to me, also he’s extremely sweet and amazing cool. Everyone at
BangZoom are amazing, and I honestly would love to do more voice
acting in the future. Believe it or not, it’s quite strenuous, and I
actually like giving myself challenges like that, so yes I hope so.
G: As a lover of art, can you tell us what your favorite type of art is?
V: That’s a real hard question! I’m honestly more so into traditional and
abstract contemporary art and also gothic era art. Those sub genre’s
tend to flow into my tastes
G: Now we all know the awesomeness of metal (in fact it’s a major
religion on my planet), but what are your favorite sub genres of metal
and favorite bands?
V: I am a diehard Thrash Metal lover. Which means I am a huge fan of
Death Angel, Slayer, Metallica, etc (too many to list). Being raised
in the Bay Area I practically grew up to love Metal, which molded my
personality. \m/
G: You’ve mentioned watching wrestling when you were younger, and
wrestling is near and dear to us here at F.A.N, so do you still follow
any wrestling?
V: Well I grew up watching WWF with my family, especially my Father, and
that ended around the same time WWF ended. I still watch it here and
there, but it’s taken up my MMA now. :)
G: Winner in a battle, Eva unit or a Gundam?
V: To be honest with you, for my equal love for both, I have to respect
myself and not choose! Muhahaha! Come on, you can’t do that to an Otaku.
That’s literally death! XD
G: There are many men that want to know what you look for in a partner;
does the hand cannon come in handy in fending off these men?
V: Well I generally look for honesty, charisma, and they have to be okay
with looking like a dork from time to time. Also if they love pets,
have an insane passion for anything they do hobby wise, and of course
musical tastes! They also gotta know how to eat sushi, good sushi! :D
And have built model kits before. :) Oh and are good at games! :D
(G: Here is some footage of the dangerous hand cannon that was mentioned)
G: So what can we look forward to with Vampy in the future?
V: I’m always working on new projects, and some even that just pop up
here and there, but always expect it to be over the top and crazy,
just like me :)
V: If you want to check up on everything I’m up to, it changes daily on
www.vampybit.me, my facebook VAMPYBITME or twitter. :D
Come by and say hello :)
I would like to thank Vampy for giving us this interview. Make sure to keep an eye on all the cool things she is up to(like fighting evil mutants with her psychic blade).
