Well humans, the winter anime season is on the horizon, so it’s time for us to take a gander at what might be good. A lot of anime awaits , and now we slim it down to our picks. As per usual, my predictions are based on what look unique and interesting. So here are what we hope are good choices.
Guild no Uketsukejou desu ga
Alina Clover is a receptionist at guild that hands out assigments to adventurers , and thinks it is an easy dream job. She soon finds herself overwhelmed by the amount of work to process, so she decides to secretly help adventurers complete assignments faster. This has not just a different perspective on the fantasy genre, but also does this in an oddball and humorous way.
Zenshuu
Natsuko Hirose quickly finds success in the animation after high school graduation, and soon finds herself being seen as an up and coming genius director. That is all halted when she is put in charge of a romance anime and can’t move forward because she herself has never experienced romance. An interesting take on the genre of anime about making anime that uses personal growth as a core driving element.
Kono Kaisha ni Suki na Hito ga Imasu
Yui Mitsuya and Masugu Tateishi are two awkward office workers who slowly fall in love with each other, but keep their relationship a secret in order not to complicate things at work. Only rare occasion does anime go into the office comedy genre and it’s fun seeing something like this pop up.
Akuyaku Reijou Tensei Oji-san
52-year-old civil servant Kenzaburou Tondabayashi dies and finds himself reincarnating as a villainess of an otome game, and uses skills from his previous life to try and navigate the role he must fulfill. The genre of isekai gives yet another interesting take on itself, and I look forward to this.
Arafou Otoko no Isekai Tsuuhan Seikatsu
Single 40 year old Kenichi migrates to a fantasy world, and manages to solve many problems by buying items online from modern day japan to use in his current area. Another unique take on isekai and this time with the art of internet shopping.
Hana wa Saku, Shura no Gotoku
On the tiny island Tonaru, first year high school student Hana Haruyama loves to read literature out loud, and is invited by the school’s broadcasting club to read on air. The slice of life genre with a nice twist.
So there are the predictions for this coming anime season. Give it the usual three episode try and see what tickles your fancy. Happy viewings.
