Its not often you’re present for a live album recording. But for the recording of “Visions Of Live Destruction” from In Malice’s Wake I was there in the crowd, in the pit, in the sweat and the madness.
Formed 2002 in the Melbourne based 4 piece are quite possibly at the fore front of Australian thrash metal. At “Legions Of Steel 2014” as the headliner at of a 10 band bill featuring thrash metal acts from all over Australia In Malice’s Wake stood tall and we’re truly head and shoulders above the rest of the acts that played that night and luckily this album captures it all.
Hitting the stage and tearing things up with the track “Onslaught” the band whipped the crowd into a frenzy. Burning throw crowd favorites off their 2 previous studio albums like “Fuel for the fire”, “The Crawling Chaos” and “Eternal Nightfall’ as well as throwing in some new unreleased tracks “Hear The Howls” and “A Sign Of The Times”.
Right now in Australia we have a thriving thrash metal scene a this live DVD proves why. These guys are phenomenal on stage and the crowd cant get enough of it. Its a thrash metal tour deforce from start to finish. The band musically are completely on point and the manage to project and aura on stage that they they are drawing from from that old school European thrash metal sound but without being a goofy retro throw back like a lot of newer American thrash bands.
The band were fantastic and were the highlight of an amazing night of metal and this recording captures it perfectly
