Fronted by Australian power metal royalty Lord Tim comes his new project Blackened Angel with their debut release “Chronicles of Damnation”
Featuring members of Lord, Serenity Defiled, Germ and Carbon Black this new band Blackened Angel are what happens with you combined Thrash, Death, Power and Black metal all together. During Lord Tim’s downtime from Lords most recent tour all the star aligned allowing all the members of this project to come together away from their main bands collaborate on this album
This is a seriously heavy album. It manages pretty well to be its own entity as well. Even with LT fronting the group it doesn’t sound like like Lord that much at all. This is very much more raw and thrashy than Lord or Dungeon ever have.
The album is massive. It has 18 tracks and 2 bonus tracks across 2 discs. It also features an orchestra across the tracks helping give it that extra epic feeling.
Highlights of the album include “Purgatory”, the thrashing “A Figure In Black”, the speed metal infused melodic track “Prophecy Of War” and the plodding heaviness of “Realisation (The Army Of The Black)”
