The kings of sludge are back and kicking ass hard. After the untimely death of drummer Joey LaCaze the band have managed to recruit former Mountain of Wizard and Missing Monuments drummer Aaron Hill and have released a fantastic sludgey doomey return to form that we all wanted
The album kicks of with the ultra distorted, feedback heavy “Agitation! Propaganda!” with big heavy riffs, ultra distorted production and front man Mike Williams barking and break neck pace before the song hits a big doomy Sabbath style riff and slows down to a nice heavy groove. which pretty much sums up how the whole album sounds.
Pretty much being the bastard child of early Black Flag and 70’s Black Sabbath, the album has big heavy riffs, super fuzzy tones and ultra distortion that you can groove on. Its everything you want from a Eyehategod album and more.
Stand out tracks are the hard grooving “Parish Motel Sickness”, The southern fried “Worthless Rescue” and the break neck “Framed to the Wall”
If you cant get enough doom-laden stoner metal and you want a big of almost Lynyrd Skynyrd style souther rock sprinkled on top in certain places then this album is for you. Also old school metal fans who love those big tasty riffs of a Black Sabbath or a Deep Purple are gonna love this album too
