Hailing from Germany comes Dust Bolt, another up and coming new wave thrash metal band
Following in the foot steps of other Teutonic thrash legends such as Sodom and Kreator, Dust Bolt have set out to forge their own destiny with the new album “Awake The Riot”
Making a huge impact on the metal scene across Europe supporting the likes of Sepultura, Six Feet Under, Napalm Death, Obituary and Heathen among others as well as playing the prestigious Wacken Open Air festival with the 4 band members averaging at just 21 years of age Dust Bolt are proving they are not just another thrash band in the huge sea of new wave thrash acts.
“Awake The Riot” really shows the band has the blue print of great thrash metal down and have expanded and built on it taking things 13 steps further. With stand out tracks “Soul Erazor”, “Agent Thrash” and “The Monotonous – Distant Scream” they boys really prove they know how to forge great songs rather than just thrash out as hard as possible with no substance behind them. They also pay tribute to an often forgotten thrash legend EvilDead with their track “Future Shock”
This is a great piece of thrash that all thrashers, old school and new, can appreciate and as this is only the bands 2nd album they still have a long road a head of them and hopefully this is only just a slither of the potential they can achieve
