Canberra based Horror influenced Death metal act Inhuman Remnants have released their debut 4 track EP titled “Ananthema” and it’s an excellent start.
Being Melbourne based I’m pretty well aware of the Victorian metal scene and the South Australian Metal scene but this is really my first exposure to the Canberra Metal scene.
Seeing this is a 4 track EP I’m gonna keep this review pretty short and sweet.
The 4 tracks given show the band have a excellent Death Metal sound with a huge grind influence coming in especially in regards to the vocals and the drumming.
The guitar work is fantastic and there are memorable solos on each track.
Stand out track is The Bleeding which is the lead track from the album as they made a video for it which is pretty awesome.
The only issue I have with the album is the vocals are in some spots are almost too guttural for me, leaning far too much to the grindcore influences but other than that the EP is solid from front to back.
They are currently recording a full length LP so i’m really looking forward to that and this is a great taste of whats to come.
