Welcome to the second edition of five of the 2013 Film Rave Halloween Special! This week’s double feature is an Asian Ghost Story Double, as I pair the classic anthology, “Kwaidan”, with the new age classic, “Pulse”. Again, both of these films are off of Time Out London’s 100 Best Horror Films list and are both first time watches. Another ghost story gets discussed, this one being “I Downloaded a Ghost”, which is being inducted into the Cinemasochist’s Dungeon of Horrors. It’s as if they took the concept of “Pulse”, dumbed it down for kids, then stripped it of any credibility. It does star a young Ellen Page, so it has that going for it.
I also discuss recent viewings, most of which are horror related, including “Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders”, “The Black Sleep”, “Incubus”, “Amityville II: The Possession”, “The Lords of Salem”, “Creepshow II”, “Gravity”, “Resolution”, “Carnival of Souls” & “Scream: Generations” (a full-length “Scream” fan film).
