FAN Announcement: Movienalia Book in the Works

For those that don’t follow me on Facebook and Twitter (for shame), then you’re not aware that I’ve begun work on a Movienalia book. That’s right, everybody’s favorite weekly article (when you discount all other weekly articles) is getting the book treatment. For those wondering what will be featured in the book, the answer is simple. All of the Movienalia’s that have been published here (as well as the first few that were posted elsewhere), as well as twenty book exclusives (including a few highly requested ones). I’m not sure what the cut-off date will be for the regular ones yet, but I’m positive none of the newer ones will be features (they’ll be saved for the sequel).

Which brings me to my second announcement. Since doing work on this book and this site (as well as a few others), I’ve found it a little overwhelming to tackle everything at once. Mainly, doing the weekly Movienalia as well as the ones for the book. For me to do the average Movienalia usually takes between three to four hours (mainly double the length of the film). When you try juggling this with an additional one or two for the week, as well as the other movies I watch to review, my time gets eaten up. Not to mention I have an overnight job I work for (which usually eats up thirty to forty hours a week).

To lessen the load a bit and kick production of the book into high gear, I’ve decided to temporarily make Movingly a bi-weekly article. Therefore, instead of getting the usual four a month, you’ll get two. Hopefully, this will only last a month or two, but I can’t make any promises. If I feel I’m ready to tackle one a week again, I’ll start doing so. Also, don’t worry about my weekly Film Rave article(s). Those will be churned out weekly, as usual.

Before I finish, I should state that the publication of the book is still up in the air. We’ll be talking to a few independent book publishers, but nothing has yet to be set in stone. As of right now, I’m more concerned with having the book finished then it ironing out the publication details. If worse comes to worse, we’ll release it through a site such as Amazon that offers eBooks for independent authors to publish. It may never get an actual paperback version, but it’ll exist one way or another.

I’d like to thank you all for your cooperation and continued support. I can’t wait to finish this book and see what fate holds for it!

P.S. For anybody who is or knows someone who works in the book publishing world and is interested in this book, please don’t hesitate to send me an e-mail. The address is YellowJacketY2J@yahoo.com. Thanks!
