We are back with Florida Championship Wrestling, the main event being a grudge match between Husky Harris and Richie Steamboat. But first, it’s time for the FCW 15 Title to be defended. This should be a good match. The Fink is also back as the ring announcer.
FCW 15 Title
Seth Rollins (c) vs Damien Sandow
Two of the top wrestlers in FCW and Seth Rollins is the longest reigning champion in all of WWE currently, having held this title since January. He’s held that title longer then his ROH Title reign as well. Rollins is still wearing some tape on his shoulder, and Sandow tries to go to work on it at the start. Rollins yells at Sandow to be a man. Be a Man Damien, come on don’t be scurred, you’re runnin’ from Rollins that’s what he heard. Sandow tries to slow it down, but Rollins escapes and hits a nice dropkick followed by a headlock, trying to slow it down himself. Sandow tries to escape multiple headlocks by but Rollins keeps getting the better of him. Both men knock heads in the corner. Dean Ambrose comes out with two bags of popcorn and a drink. Ambrose certainly isn’t looking for a John Morrison physique. Sandow rolls him up, but Rollins gets out and goes to hit Avada Kadavra, but Sandow quickly escapes to the outside. Rollins starts arguing with Ambrose, and the ref decides to send him to the back. Rollins goes back into the ring, but Sandow catches him, kicking the second rope into his crotch. He hits a neckbreaker and covers him close to the ropes, but puts his body in front of the ropes to get himself a three count.
We are at 1-0 going into a commercial, and an old Ascension promo, the praying and glowing orb one. I read recently that they had Tito team up with his cousin Primo at a house show, I hope they don’t go that direction with poor Tito getting put in that situation. We come back at around 7:45 left on the clock and Sandow maintaining the advantage. Rollins starts fighting back with chops, but Sandow cuts him off. Sandow mushes his face into the canvas, disappointing some of the ladies. Sandow starts working on that shoulder that was taped up. Whip into the ropes by Sandow backfires as Rollins hooks the ropes and stop himself and goes on the attack. Rollins hits a suplex on the right side due to his shoulder injury. Springboard clothesline attempt by Rollins, but Sandow stops him and pushes him off the top rope onto the floor, right into the barricade shoulder first. Seth Rollins slowly gets back into the ring, but is grabbed by Sandow. Rollins though gets behind Sandow and rolls him up for a quick pinfall at about 4:25.
In anger, Sandow runs at Rollins but he ducks and Sandow goes to the outside. Rollins jumps through the second rope and lands on Sandow, on his bad shoulder. Rollins struggles to roll Sandow back in the ring, and gets only a two count. Downward Spiral into the second turnbuckle also gets a near fall. Rollins starts to fire up. Sandow gets on his knees, Rollins goes for Avada Kadavra, but Sandow quickly gets up, goes for the attack, but Rollins reverses that with a jumping enzugiri. Rollins hits a bringboard clothesline, but Sandow reverses that and grabs a single leg boston grab. Sandow goes for a cross face chicken wing, working on that left shoulder. Rollins gets to his feet and grabs the rope, forcing the break. Sandow goes for the chicken wing again in the corner, but Rollins gets out and hits another jumping enzugiri with Sandow sitting on the top rope. Another big kick by Rollins. He goes to the top rope and hits a big hurricarana. Rollins sets up Avada Kadavra, but Dean Ambrose runs in and attacks Damien Sandow. The time limit expires.
Winner and NEW FCW 15 Champion, 2-1, Damien Sandow.
With Sandow laying on his back not knowing where he is, he becomes the new FCW 15 Champion. Seth Rollins looks extremely frustrated, as Sandow celebrates his victory, becoming the second ever FCW 15 Champion. William Regal is congratulatory to Sandow, but seems upset with that result, and is disappointed.
Another Ascension promo, the 5th Dimension one. Again, I’ve made mention to how James Mitchell should be their manager. Someone on the board talked about not wanting Michell near Raquel, thinking that Mitchell is some sort of pervert. I mean, it’s not like he had sex with a rat while she wore the Mortis mask……
Jinder Mahal & Rick Victor vs Titus O’Neil & Percy Watson
WWE’s newest hot tag team compete against guys who have teamed up for the first time. They even look like a tag team, but they need a team name. Victor lacks a mustache this week. Titus trips up Victor and O’Neil goes to work on Victor. Tag to Percy. Huge leapfrog by Watson followed by a big dropkick, he’s getting some Kofi Kingston air there, my goodness. Knee to Watson though and Mahal tags himself in. Big slam and knee drop only gets a one count. Victor gets tagged in, but Watson tries to go for a quick jackknife pin and is unsuccessful. Quick tags and pins on the Mahal/Victor team. Watson backdrops Victor and gets the tag into O’Neil. O’Neil puts that wood on Victor and starts barking like a dog. He goes for a powerslam, but Victor escapes and goes for the leg. He goes to tag Jinder Mahal, but Mahal decides to take a walk. Victor turns around, and Titus O’Neil hits the Clash of the Titus, getting the win.
Winners: Titus O’Neil & Percy Watson
Last week, a match was set up between Brad Maddox and Briley Pierce. I guess one of the disadvantages of wrestling is you don’t get on like, 20 segments on the show, like an interviewer does. A video of Leo Kruger is shown and they show his new banner. Another Ascension promo. The impact wears off after awhile. It’s the orb one.
Brad Maddox vs Briley Pierce
Brad Maddox is wearing black this week, very heelish. Hopefully he’ll have more successful heel tactics then his match with Richie Steamboat. We get treated to a Buff Bagwell dance as well. Briley is apparently from Springfield! There’s this one girl screaming like crazy. He looks a lot like Dolph Ziggler, for obvious reasons. William Regal’s phone goes off, what an odd ring tone there. He says some urgent business and leaves the announce desk. Anyway, onto the match. Basic wrestling at the start from the amateur from Briley. Maddox hits a suplex followed by a head twist. Also, fun fact, both guys here are OVW alumni. Maddox shoots Pierce into the corner, then gets a quick roll up and gets the victory.
Winner: Brad Maddox
Brad looks pleased with himself and Briley starts shouting at Brad. He says there’s no way he could do that again. Brad Maddox slowly goes up the steps, and the match starts off again.
Brad Maddox vs Briley Pierce
Briley hits a dropkick to the knee, and goes for La mahistral cradle. Maddox escapes quickly, and Maddox boots him in the gut. Maddox goes for another pin, and gets the pin, again.
Winner: Brad Maddox
Could you imagine if there was an FCW Fantasy league, the points Maddox would get. Up next, the Ascension. Before that, we get the 5th dimension promo. I guess they’re building up to this match here. It’s not like it’s the first time they’ve been on TV. Eden Stiles joins the desk, I wish it was AJ. Maxine sent her out.
Colin Cassidy vs Conor O’Brian
Jobber entrance for Colin Cassidy. The lights start flashing, and Conor O’Brian is seen disrobing. Another orgasmic entrance from Raquel Diaz. Colin looks perturbed. He also looks very English, he’s apparently from the States. You can really hear Raquel over the commentary, like, does she have a mic. Conor jumps and does a bump, and everyone starts yelling and going crazy. Cassidy is distracted by this, and Conor gets a big boot in, and gets the victory.
Winner: Conor O’Brian
We get ANOTHER Ascension promo, like, they must have needed a lot of filler, or they’re really trying to push the Ascension. They’re a good stable, but this is the third time the orb promo is shown. I’m sure they could get called up though, this is a gimmick they could call up. We get ANOTHER Ascension promo, the 5th Dimension one, 3 times for each vingette.
Richie Steamboat vs Husky Harris.
Long lock up starts the match, I remember the time they did it the best was in WCW with Sting and DDP, where they fell outside the ring and kept the lock up, and the fans were going wild. Eden Stiles that she knows being a woman, that Aksana has an agenda. Steamboat and Harris exchange blows in the corner. Richie throws down the official and keeps fighting. Then Harris throws the official down, and they keep brawling. Maxine comes out with William Regal telling them to stop. Officials and FCW superstars come out. Bah gawd it’s broken down. Brad Maddox gets thrown into Maxine, and Regal comes to her aid.
No Contest
Dean Ambrose then starts coming into the ring and isn’t joining the fray. Ambrose then jumps William Regal! Regal gets in a shot and Ambrose runs outside the ring. Maxine seems to be smiling. Maybe a potential match?
