Tonight, we’re getting ready for a big match. So ready, that FCW has a small video package with neat graphics to build it up. Amazing. Tonight’s main event is for the FCW Heavyweight Title between the Champion Bo Rotundo vs Damien Sandow. And we start out with Paul Burchill’s music.
Percy Watson vs Brad Maddox vs Richie Steamboat
Paul Burchill’s music doesn’t fit well with Percy Watson. Percy is trying to get a little serious, but he still has that little Percy Watson bounce to him. Brad Maddox comes out with a spray bottle, likely for his hair. Out next comes Richie Steamboat. Watson and Steamboat start out by double teaming Brad Maddox. Watson turns to Steamboat and then starts working on Steamboat. A couple of roll ups, but lots of breaking due to being a triple threat match. You have to have eyes on the side of your head according to Matt. Maddox and Steamboat go after each other with Steamboat eventually getting thrown to the outside. Percy ends up getting backdropped onto Richie as well. Maddox throws Steamboat back in the ring and starts the beatdown on Steamboat. DDE by Maddox (I guess that would be the Brad Maddox Express, hey, at least Brad Maddox wins matches). Percy tries to get back in but to no avail. Maddox runs at Steamboat in the corner and crotches himself on the top rope. Percy gets back in starts to work away at Maddox. Steamboat heads to the top rope but gets caught by Watson. Percy goes to baseball slide Maddox while he’s on the apron, but Maddox pulls himself up and Percy slides to the outside. Steamboat goes to sunset flip Maddox from the outside for a pin. Maddox ends up getting on top of Steamboat and grabs the ropes, picking up a three count.
Winner: Brad Maddox
Maddox is picking up some victories in recent weeks, he’s more then just a reality TV star. Well, I guess not really a TV reality star, just a few videos that are now on Youtube.
YES! They were in FCW. This Week: Hade Vansen
He dedicated his existence to the darkness his entire life. For over a decade he searched and found others who will follow, and will show them the way. His immortal power is all he requires. Yes, Hade Vansen showed up on Smackdown, and it looked like big things were gonna come this way. Hell, he even showed up in FCW and had a few matches. Hade had been in FCW since May of 2007, but a knee injury in January 2008 kept him out for almost all year. When he came back, it looked like he was finally going to live his dream.
But, the legs were eventually cut out from under him. After wins on FCW TV against Yoshi Tatsu and Lupe Santiago, he was released and the gimmick was dropped. He was originally supposed to be feuding with the Undertaker, and potentially bringing in other FCW star in with him, such as Black Pain/Sweet Papi Sanchez.
James Bronson & Erick Rowen w/Byron Saxton vs Titus O’Neil
Byron Saxon, currently with an injury thanks to Mr. O’Neil. Titus has a bit of an uphill battle, or well, with how handicap matches work in WWE, I guess Titus would have the advantage. Norman Smiley comes out though and says this match won’t happen, and brings out Leakee as his tag team partner.
James Bronson & Erick Rowen w/Byron Saxton vs Titus O’Neil & Leakee
I write it as I watch folks. By the way, for new readers, Leakee is pronounced Lay-Ah-Key. I had trouble with it at first. I pronounced it Leaky, like, as if his tights were leaking. James Bronson starts out with Titus O’Neil but O’Neil begins putting his wood on Mr. Bronson. In the fighting sense I guess. What does that even mean, don’t make me put this wood on ya? Sounds like something JDeviant would have in his write ups. Anyway. Leakee gets tagged in, and quickly gets beat up. Bronson and Rowen are described by Regal as guys who look like wrestlers from the 1950s. Rowen has the Highlander beard, and by the way, Robbie McAllister shaved his beard and cut his hair. I didn’t even notice him at a recent indy show. Anyway, back to this.
Bronson goes for the pin on Leakee but just gets a 2 count. Crossface by Bronson. Leakee starts a comeback after a knee to the face with Bronson running at him in a corner. He gets a quick roll up and gets the win.
Winners: Titus O’Neil & Leakee
Bronson and Rowen attack after the bell, and Bronson gets this vicious reverse cross armbreaker on Titus with Saxton creaming at Titus because he was the guy who ended injuring Saxton.
Leo Kruger vs DeSean Bishop
The walking talking main event takes on a guy who was recently let go by WWE, DeSean Bishop. Leo gets his own chant from the crowd. Regal says he likes gypsies. They throw wonderful parties. Great couple of dropkicks by Bishop, he’s pretty athletic for a big and released guy. Bishop goes for a dive over the top, but Leo moves, Bishop catches himself, and Kruger trips him on the apron. Leo Kruger is talked up by Regal, who talks about Kruger’s many years of wrestling in South Africa, a big rival of Justin Gabriel. Big snap suplex by Kruger, who really is a strong technical wrestler, one of the more talented guys in FCW currently. Kruger slams him in the middle, heads to the second rope but gets a shot in the bread basket by Bishop. Bishop goes for a Stinger Splash but misses and hits him with a flying elbow. Kruger hits the Final Destination (a spinning fisherman’s suplex) and gets the win.
Winner: Leo Kruger
Ricardo Rodriquez comes out with his blackberry. The second time looking at Kruger’s matches. Decided to come out and quickly leave, I guess.
Briley Pierce is now with Seth Rollins, and he asks him about Dean Ambrose, who’s been calling him out. Seth says he’s not his focus, his focus is his medal. I wish it was a belt to be honest. Ambrose comes out from the back, and starts staring down Seth. He gives hima couple of looks and walks away. He seems to have a lot of…….Moxley! HA! Hilarious. Oh, the divas are next. This should be entertaining. But first, who was that wicked man?
Superstar Profile: Dean Ambrose
Another one of the more well known stars in FCW is the former Jon Moxley, Dean Ambrose. He started his career off in 2004 at 18, I know that because he’s only about 5 months older then me. Around the Independents, he has wrestled in Evolve, DGUSA, CZW, HWA, FIP and others, making a big name for himself across the US indy scene. Coming into FCW, he’s been looking to take out one man. Seth Rollins. Another indy standout, who is currently holding the FCW 15 Championship. William Regal has taken a liking to him, calling him a nutter, and saying that he should have the word “Villian” written on the back of his tights. In the next few weeks, I’ll likely be bringing the highly anticipated match between the two to the FAN website, so that should be exciting!
AJ Lee, Kaitlyn & Caylee Turner vs Raquel Diaz, Sonia and Audrey Marie
The Chickbusters and Alicia Fox’s sister from Tough Enough come out to the hot J-pop that is AJ’s music. The opposition approaches, this being Raquel Diaz’s first match on tv, I do believe. Regal first met Raquel at 5 years old. He didn’t slap her in the face like Richie Steamboat for picking his nose, so that’s nice. I’m interested to see if she has the ability of dear old Dad. She starts out with Caylee Turner. Horrible dropkick from Turner, the same person who injured Ivie in Tough Enough. Followed by a crappy armdrag, followed later by a nice Northern Lights Suplex, so her upper body is flexible. Raquel tags in Sonia and Caylee tags in AJ.
They get AJ in the corner and the quick tag to Audrey. Audrey goes for a bow and arrow lock but almost gets herself pinned. Ricardo Rodriquez is walking out again, man, I wish I could do that. He’s now taking pictures, geez. Quick tags in and out. Raquel gets in and moves AJ’s head around. Raquel pushes AJ back into the corner. Sonia gets the tag. Sonia runs towards AJ and flies out of the ring. AJ looking to make the hot tag to Kaitlyn while Audrey gets tagged in. Low dropkick on Audrey followed by an awful sideslam, slips out of her arms. Kaitlyn goes for a backslide, and mercifully it’s over.
Winners: The Chickbusters & Caylee Turner
What a mess. The losers were the people who watched it. Another winner is Johnny Ace, as he could to please himself seeing some of these girls in a magazine. To think, Damien Sandow has been in developmental for 6 1/2 years on and off, and has to watch that.
Maxine enters and is going to be at the announce desk. A modern day Gorilla Monsoon I bet. Regal and Maxine have been kinda having a thing recently, so this should be interesting. Regal isn’t too good with women though. Hey, we have something in common. Regal knocked his chair over too. They say nothing is going on between them.
FCW Heavyweight Championship
Bo Rotundo (c) vs Damien Sandow
Dramatic warlike classical music brings in Damien Sandow for this upcoming match. Bo Rotundo comes in and jump starts the match. Damien gets a shot to the throat to get Bo off of him. Sandow thrown outside the ring after Bo regains the advantage. Bo has a headlock on the outside, but Sandow viciously slams Rotundo into the steps. Sandow continues beating down Rotundo. Matt tells Regal to keep his hands above the desk, he seems a bit speechless with Maxine around. Sandow keeps the offense on Rotundo. Sandow has his legs on the ropes with this neat crossface chickenwing type move, pulling on the face. Sandow is such a vicious heel, someone that would be great on WWE TV. “THAT’S MINE” Sandow yells looking at the banner. Maxine says she loves Regal’s accent, while Sandow throws Rotundo back out to the ring. Pushes him into the post.
Sandow continues to grind down and stomp away at Rotundo. Bo backdrops Sandow outside by he stays on the apron. Sandow goes to the top but Bo Catches him. Big superplex by Bo, and gets a nearfall. Bo hits a clothesline and bulldog combo, but Sandow kicks out again. Bo goes for the spear but Sandow saw it coming. Sandow catches him with a forearm and looks to pull something out of his tights. The ref sees it around his knuckles, but pokes Bo in the eye and hits a spinning neckbreaker. Another nearfall! Sandow goes for three more pinfalls, and all kickouts. Bo hits an O’Connor role, and Sandow kicks out. Sandow yells at the referee and goes to punch the ref. The ref ducks, and Bo hits a big spear. The three count follows, and he gets the big win.
Winner and STILL FCW Heavyweight Champion: Bo Rotundo.
