Welcome to the Freakin’ Awesome Network!
What is the Freakin’ Awesome Network? Well, it’s F.A.N. for short, but more importantly, it’s you. Yes, you who are reading this right now. That’s right, we know who you are and if I must say, you really need to keep those blinds closed. There are just some things man – even a trespassing, voyeuristic, camera-in-hand man – shouldn’t see.
A lot of you may be a bit bewildered by this; after all, we’re part of a wrestling message board right? Well…we were. After our parting from Wrestlecrap, Dan “Kash Flagg” Lashley and I got together and decided we wanted to keep the forums going for several reasons. The largest reason is because over many years, the (now-former) Wrestlecrap Message Board evolved into one of the largest and best fan communities around. But the truth is, neither Dan nor I really follow
much wrestling anymore, so we weren’t sure how to go about things until we hit upon the notion that our Off-Topic section, generally the busiest section of the forums, was where our answers were.
We were movie fans, especially bad films and b-movies. We loved cartoons. Video games? Totally into that, for sure. Music? Oh yeah. Comic books? Oh HELL yeah! Ukranian Two-Man Gravel Bobsledding? Okay, maybe that’s reaching, but the point is we figured out we wanted to anchor the message boards with a new site, one that was a bit different from the rest of the entertainment sites out there.
And that’s where you came in. We decided to make a site “by the fans, for the fans.” A site that would encompass all of the various pop culture interests that we (the board) love.
We’re not professionals in this regard. We’re fans. Pure. Simple. We’re going to do everything we can to make the site – and the forums – a place that you enjoy going to, and can find something you like to read about. As time goes on, we’ll be introducing many new parts to this new endeavor. Weekly series such as my own Up From the Depths and Dan’s Journal of Imagination will be mixed together with reviews of upcoming movies, DVDs and music; interviews with comic book artists and (GASP!) adult movie stars and a lot more! Our amazing site designer Justine Leonard will be helping us institute new things as time goes on as well.
Now, where does this leave “The ‘Crap” you ask – well, we’re not getting rid of the pro wrestling aspect of it. Hell, it’s why we exist in the first place. It’s just going to be mixed with a lot of other things we hope you like, and we look forward to growing and expanding with your support.
Thank you, each and every person that has supported us over the years. We really feel we’re going to do something special with this place one day, and we have you all to thank for that.
Never stop being a fan. FANboys and FANgirls for life, beeches!
Bookmarked.
I’ve already kissed butt enough, but Yeah. Lovin’ the new site.
Fantastic work, guys!
Looks tremendous!
