In case you didn’t notice, the official new trailer for the Jurassic World sequel came out last night and it’s jaw-dropping! Shockingly, the trailer is just shy of three minutes long and there’s a loooot going on, including several nods already to Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 3, but we ain’t complaining; Jurassic World had plenty of Easter eggs to go around and some new material to keep old and new fans satisfied.
We now know that Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt’s characters are no longer dating, as the trailer opens up in a dive bar with what looks like a slightly uncomfortable and forced conversation about saving the dinosaurs from the island that will, in fact, send all the dinos into extinction if they don’t carry out this rescue mission, which implies that there will be more of that sexual tension + the gotta-save-the-world-too essence that is prevalent in the JP and JW storylines.
Based off this first trailer, there will be internal struggles too: should we actually save these creatures that could kill us or should we preserve all life if given the chance? A bit of Frankenstein-esque mentality there, and it seems like our beloved JP originals that make a come-back (Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Malcom) will push for the latter in this sequel. Who could blame him?
We could go on and on, but you gotta run and see it for yourself. We can’t wait to see what Universal rolls out in the days leading up to The Fallen Kingdom premiere!
