Humans, the anime season of this fall approaches and time to see what looks good. It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these picks to watch out for, so let’s get this thing started(lucky you).
Same criteria as my previous ones. I pick my predictions based on what looks interesting and has a unique premise. This season seems some horror and mystery shows lined up for us. Just in time for Halloween(that costumes too tight on you). Let’s take a look at the anime coming up.
Kowabon
A horror anime series using rotoscoping animation(drawn over live actors). We haven’t been informed of what exactly the story will be about, but the presentation in trailers looks intriguing (plus a creepy poster).
Sakurako-san no ashimoto ni wa shitai ga umatteiru
Because we can never have enough animes with long names . Any who, this show centers around a high school student who meets a strange girl he meets loves analyzing bones, and has quite a talent for it(as well as both them going to solve cases). A long with the peculiar characters, the animation looks very good.
Subete ga F Naru: The Perfect insider
A research science laboratory and a murder mystery to solve. A long with a premise/genre we don’t get much of in anime recently, this show looks very good visually as well.
Gakusen toshi asterisk
Young boys and girls from different academies duke it out in a battle entertainment festival using special weapons attached to their hands. Judging from the previews, this looks like it’s gonna have some pretty good battles. Let’s hope this also includes a good story and characters to boot.
One Punch Man
A very meek and average looking superhero who happens to (as the title of show says) defeat his opponents with a single punch. Which leads him on his quest to find villains worthy of to his skills. This anime looks like it’s gonna be a good mix of visually impressive action and comedy. This will be a great show if they manage to balance out those two elements.
Komori-san wa kotowarenai
A series centering around a middle school girl who can’t say no to doing favors for people. Which somehow causes her to have incredible strength. Given that this show is going to be done in three minute episodes, this looks like a perfect set up for the type of jokes this simple and interesting premise might do.
Heavy object
Soldiers fight wars from far away from the battle field by using weapons know as objects. One young man who begins to study Objects starts to unravel a mystery as he gets closer to locating one certain pilot. This show takes a different approach to mech warfare, and I look forward to see how it is pulled off.
Shingeki! Kyojin chuugakkou
Attack on Titan in cute middle school form! Yes, I will admit this is stretching the AOT franchise in order to have filler between seasons of the regular show. But it will be interesting to see how this is pulled off (whether hilariously good or hilariously bad).
