???????
Just the one scoop today, because what could hope to measure up to this information. Robert Downey Jr along with Sue Downey are looking to produce a live action version of Pinocchio and Paul Thomas Anderson is writing the screenplay. No, not Paul WS Anderson, PT. No, not a serious drama, Pinocchio. No, not that creepy old Italian actor, Robert Downey Jr. Like, from Iron Man? You know him, right?
Variety report that the director of Inherent Vice, Boogie Nights and others has been hired by Team Downey to pen the script for the latest re-imagining of the classic story of a puppet brought to life. RDJ is on board to play Geppetto, and has apparently been interested in doing this for some time, reviving his interest in the wake of a great deal of live-action remakes of classic animated fairy tales ordered by Disney. Although there is no confirmation that Anderson will direct, that is what he has done with most scripts that he has written. To be honest, a PT Anderson directed vision of Pleasure Island is something I would be interested to see. All those boys turning into donkeys from the mind behind The Master. That’s some intriguing stuff. Let’s all take the weekend, try to make sense of this.
