Party Vibez are back. One of Melbourne’s most intense and most fun thrash bands have returned with a 4 track E.P. Titled “Greatest Pits”.
From the first appearance the cover art is a parody of N.W.A.’s Great Hits which really sets the tone for the bands approach to this release. The E.P. Kicks off with “Strapped For Thrash” which shows the band at their tongue in cheek best telling the tale of need to tour, play and drink with Mike vocals really going into Mike Muir singing territory which is the first I’ve heard from them.
Up next is a them paying tribute to Joe the engineer on track “Joe” which opens slow passed with the previously mentioned melodic singing before kicking up the pace at a blistering speed which is the most Slayer like track on the album
Taking on Anthrax for the best song about a 2000AD comic character they have the track “Rogue” about the character Rogue Trooper which is fast and frantic thrash metal at its best and it really tells the story of the character well if you’re unaware.
Closing out the E.P. Is the track “Soul Pizza” which what thrash metal without Pizza and booze and is another prime example of way the band have managed to combined the classic thrash metal sensibilities with the new thrash bands sense of humour.
This E.P. Is 4 examples of why Party Vibez is one the best and most exciting bands to watch on the local scene and hopefully we get a brand new full length album from them soon.
This is a must for all fans of classic crossover like D.R.I and S.O.D along with modern day acts like Municipal Waste and Iron Reagan
