This is pretty much everything thats wrong with heavy metal
With the exception of bands that opening promote violence and bigotry this is about as bad as it gets.
Take a handful of mediocre musicians, give them the idea to have the band fronted by 2 talentless strippers who wear virtually nothing on stage and have them churn out the most generic, by the numbers god awful heavy metal you’ve ever heard. So what could possible be worse? Say I dunno have them literally “butcher” some of your all time favourite songs!
This band appeals to most lowest metal fans who clearly are only interested in eye candy and nothing more. Musically they are awful. Their voiced are over processed with so many effects layered on it you can tell what they were even meant to sound like.
The fact that they take the name Butcher Babies its self should be ground for some sort of legal cease and desist request. The name is taken from the Plasmatics song Butcher Babies and if you are unaware The Plasmatics were a ground breaking shock rock group from the late 70s/early 80s whose front woman Wendy O. Williams wise a pioneer for here wild on stage antics involving setting fire to pretty much everything and welding a chainsaw. Also famous for her collaborations with Lemmy and Gene Simmons I have to admit that I’m surprised that this band carrying this pathetic charade on stage hasn’t been enough to get Wendy to rise from her grave and beat them all into a bloody pulp.
This album includes truly awful renditions of the ZZ Top classic “Beer drinkers and hell raisers”, Napoleon XIV’s “They’re coming to take me away” and worst of all the S.O.D. Classic “Pussy Whipped” which I’m completely shocked that we haven’t heard from either Billy Milano or Danny Lilker on.
The only way to top this off would be if the album cover of course was a rip off of the Guns N’ Roses E.P. “lies”
Its band enough that they’re making their own horrible music but now they’re destroying other peoples songs.
This album should be avoided by all people who like music in general and only checked out if your a pre-pubescent boy to stupid to find porn on the internet and need something to jack off to.
If you want good female fronted metal go check out any number of other bands like Arch Enemy, Doro, Warlock, Holy Moses, Nervosa, Within Temptation, the list goes on.
