It’s a “Big Stars in Little Films” double feature, as I pair up “Killing Season” (starring Robert De Niro & John Travolta) with “The Canyons” (starring Lindsay Lohan & James Deen). The latter is directed by Paul Schrader, so I’d argue he’s the real big star of that one. Also, John McTiernan was originally going to direct “Killing Season”, so this could’ve been a “Big Directors Making Little Films” double feature. But, it’s not. So that last note was pointless. Just like this show!
Not pointless is this week’s inductee into the Cinemasochist’s Dungeon of Horrors, “Kindergarten Ninja”. I was so blown away by it that I spent a good chunk of the runtime discussing. I promise you it’s not boring! That’s one promise I can guarantee! What I can’t guarantee is avoiding technical difficulties, which slightly plague the end of the show. Thankfully, I was able to patch them up.
I also discuss recent viewings, including “Pitch Black”, “Mud”, “Super Buddies” & “Sound of Noise”. A light week (by my standards), but it’s all good.
Enjoy!
