For my February Review From My Room, I was going to talk about Dinosaurs Attack!, an amazing trading card series that lives up to its name. But since my update was coming the week of Valentine’s, I thought I’d do something a little more personal. So I’m going to be reviewing things from Justine! I have lots of cool stuff from her.
It occurs to me that some of you may not know Justine, but I bet a lot of you didn’t know Mento before my Doom Patrol post either and that didn’t stop me! Justine is a gal from the very forums linked to here at FAN, and helped get this whole site up-and-running. Far more then I, that’s for sure. I don’t remember why we became friends (probably a Too Cool appreciation topic or something), but we ended up talking a lot on Myspace and she designed the layout from my very first website.
What I do know how our little gift exchanges started though. Justine drew some pictures of us, and then I drew some. I think most have been lost to time and my old hard drive, but I’ve posted samples of what I do have. Note the quality ms paint realism.
After that we mailed gifts to each other…we didn’t have much of a choice, since one of us was in the United States and the other Australia! The stuff she sent was always better than mine. I mean, check this out, Marty and Shawn, circa the Rockers!
How’s a man supposed to top that!? It’s an official WWF postcard from 1989. It has a pretty neat description of the tag-team on the back . “Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty are a high-flying, hard hitting team known as The Rockers. They have exploded upon the WWF scene and they’ve been rocking and rolling thier way to an impressive string of victories. They use dazzling aerial tactics to blitz opponents“. And something else that caught my interest was the copyright. It has the Titan Sports, Inc one, but then there’s a separate one saying Hulk Hogan is a trademark of Marvel Comics licensed to Titan. Thats something I knew, but when I was a kid I never noticed it on any of my toys.
That said, the real winner is this; a knit-hamburger.
It’s really amazing. I don’t even have the words to explain how cool it is. So here’s a few more pictures.
If that wasn’t enough, she also included a brain slug! It would have turned me into a drooling idiot if thinking about her didn’t already.
Happy Valentine’s Day Justine, and to the rest of you as well.
